The PCOS to “star” again in brgy polls?

We are now a free country. Let's protect our freedom from any bastards who want to subjugate us again. And let's bear in mind the German proverb that goes: “Who has lost his freedom has nothing else to lose.”

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) says about 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted every year and yet one in seven people is starving.  That's food for thought.

It says here that the PCOS machines maybe used in the barangay and SK elections. Is that so? I thought they're junking the PCOS because “it caused the defeat of some candidates.”

There was this story about an OFW whose car was bumped by a Saudi Arabian citizen's car even if it was properly parked along a Saudi highway. The Pinoy complained but was scolded by the police who said: “It's your fault, stupid. Your car couldn't have been bumped if you didn't come to Saudi.”

I'm not saying or trying to say that this was the same situation as the alleged shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman reportedly poaching in Phl territory.

Newly-elected Cebu Provincial Board Member Grecilda Sanchez-Zaballero, daughter of the late vice governor Greg Sanchez Jr., has been reported as saying she was willing to work with outgoing Gov. Gwen Garcia, political nemesis of her dad.

Sanchez-Zaballero was quoted as saying: “We don't have to like each other but we can at least work together for the common good, she doesn't have to like me or I don't have to like her, we just have to hopefully get along somewhere, somehow.” Very well put.

OVERHEARD. Vice Mayor-elect Edgar Labella called a meeting of all members of the City Council last Monday. But the BOPK councilors who form the majority of council told Labella to move the meeting to any day of their convenience (according to my source). Commented a senior business executive: “That's a sign of things to come. Ang BOPK councilors mao gihapon ang maghari sa Konseho.” Reply: “Mao kana ang mahitabo? Kaluoy ni Edgar.”
