CAREER SHIFT. Some Pinoy doctors took up nursing to be able to work and live in the US. Here's one Pinoy doctor who studied carpentry for the same purpose. And he's doing well as a carpenter in a high-end section of New York.

HIGH PAYING. Jimmy (not his real name) has organized a group of erstwhile jobless Pinoy and Chicano carpenters doing repairs on houses that, well, need immediate repair. Jimmy himself wields the hammer well although as boss of the group he mainly directs his men what to do, says our US-based informer.
