David Medalla performance/B’way agency’s Phl nominees/French to lend expertise

SUNDRY STROKES - The Philippine Star

David Medalla will perform with Adam Nankervis on Saturday, Jan. 12, 6 p.m. at the Rizal Library Special Collections Bldg., Ateneo U.

In my early years with the Chronicle, David would invite me to his Le Cave de Angely, really a hovel with the ground for its flooring. Here, literary sessions were held presided by David. Cartoonist Gat thought David rather “wacky” but I always insisted he was a brilliant lad who had the markings of a genius.

I was proven right much later. David has garnered a uniquely distinguished name abroad, particularly in England with his bubble machine and other inventions for visual artists, as also for his art and literary works.

His exhibit at the Ateneo will run through January 20. It will be a great pity if the cognoscenti will miss it.
