The joys of teaching

THE EAR - The Philippine Star

FOR THE LOVE OF TEACHING. A retired teacher who still makes the rounds in different schools, both public and private, to give lectures, shared that despite having retired, she is happy that she is still tapped to impart what she knows to young students. “Enjoy man gyud kaayo ko ug teach. Tiguwang na lang gyud mao nang kinahanglan gyud mopahuway,” she said.

TEACHER’S PET. And the retired teacher has a lot of anecdotes to share, one of which is the story about “What is your favorite pet.” She said that she requires her elementary students to write essays and one is about their favorite pet. “One time, to make sure that they understood, I asked them if they know what a ‘pet’ is. Before I could finish my question, a student raised his hand and boastfully said that he knows what a ‘pet’ is. He then raised his right foot and declared, ‘Kani ma’am ay, mao ni ang pet.’” The teacher wanted to laugh but she stopped herself. Hehehe
