Motorcycle helmets

THE LAW. There is a law that requires motorcycle riders to wear a helmet. However, an Ear informer pointed out that there are still people who do not know or just simply ignore the law. “Bisan pa sa kadaghang aksidente sa motorsiklo, wa ra gyud gihapon nahadlok ang uban. Dili lang gihapon mag helmet. Wa ko kasabot ug bogo ba lang gyud o gahi og ulo,” said the informer.

THE ENFORCERS. One of the problems, said the informer, is the enforcement of the law. He said, the law seems to be only in effect whenever there are traffic enforcers or agents of the Land Transportation Office. If these people are not around, then the law is not in effect, he said. “Pareho gud sa seatbelt law. Kung naay enforcer, mag seatbelt. Kung wala, aw di pud magtaod sa seatbelt. Hay! Only in the Philippines,” said the informer.
