Gambling policeman

- The Ear -

RELEASED FOR A FEE. A deputy police was arrested for gambling, playing tong-its a week before the feast of the Sto. Niño. It was a Friday night. But he and his companions were released for a fee of P2,000. The following night, a Saturday, they were gambling again. Someone passed by and asked, “Wa diay tagmanay?” The deputy police answered, “Wa may kaso, kay sayon ra man. P2,000 ra gud. Para happy happy lang god sa manakop.”

JAI-ALAI. This gambling place is also owned by a barangay tanod. Aside from tong-its, they are also into swertres, whatever that means. In fact, they still have mimeographed results of jai alai. Where does this come from? Nobody knows. The mimeographed result is just seen very early morning hanged at their place.
