Complaint against Cebu's cabbies in port area still on

ABUSIVE CABBIES. A big-time fruit trader from Mindanao asked a business partner in Cebu why there are so many abusive taxi drivers in the local waterfront area. “Can’t the cops or any trffic agent make them toe the line?” he asked. “Can’t your mayor do something to protect the rights of taxi passengers?”

 MAYOR FEARED. The fruit trader, whose roots are in Cebu, said: “Didto sa amo, walay abusadong taxi driver. Hadlok sila sa among mayor. Hadlok silang sumbagon.” He suggested that in the coming local election, “Cebuanos should elect a mayor who is not afraid of abusive cabbies. “Kanang mayor ba nga manumbag.” The local port area continues to be the subject of complaints by both local and ship passengers from other places.
