Speed guns suggested

OVERSPEEDING GRIPE AGAIN. Time and again, The Ear gets some readers’ gripes against the overspeeding of passenger vehicles plying the northern and southern highways. The most recent gripe came from a lady schoolteacher who rides in a jeepney twice a day from Danao City to Cebu City and back. “Grabeng mopadagan ang mga driver,” she said. “Mag-rosaryo gud ko samtang nagdagan ang sakyanan.”

SPEED GUN. Many have complained but only this teacher has suggested that a speed limit be fixed on the highways (in the north and south) and enforce these limits with the use of speed guns like those used in Manila by the MMDA cops. The teacher said if the Cebu police could not afford to buy these speed guns, “just fix the speed limits and I will help raise fund for the equipment.”
