Homes for the rich

FOR THE RICH. A reader who identified herself as “poor teacher retiree” wrote this newspaper’s publisher about the many condominiums one sees in newspaper ads. “Beautiful multi-storied condominiums are being offered by the dozens,” she said. She said the owners of these condos are not only “insulting the homeless” but, worse, “they are breaking their hearts.”

There are many big condos, she said, but “no houses for the poor.” She said these condos are being built and sold to people who already have homes. “What this country needs,” she said, “are homes for the poor, not condominiums for the rich.”
