Cebu kiddie carolers on CD

- The Ear -

STREET CAROLERS. Nobody, it seems, has paid attention to the music played by the Cebuano street carolers who are a familiar sight during the Christmas season. But last Christmas, a group of Australian music scholars stayed here for a week to record the music of these unschooled singers, mostly indigents. REFINED. An Ear informer said the Australian scholars took video shots of the kiddie carolers and did some refinement job on the songs they sung. The Ear informer said he talked with the Australian scholars who told him they also worked on native carolers in South American villages. “Nisaad man to sila nga ila kong hatagan og CD apan wa pa man. Basin karon Paskoha,” our informer said.
