New peso bills unheard of
NEW BILLS. The wife of a mountain barangay fruit farmer was bitterly scolded by her husband upon the couple’s dicovery that two 20 peso bills which did not look familiar were included in the other bills the wife received from a buyer of their fruits. They were the newly released 20 peso bills which the couple haven’t yet seen. The husband said: “Pataka ra man ka’g dawat ... Ayaw nalang na pailisi’g dinuwen (genuine). Tagu-i kay basi’g dudahan tag tigpasa og peke nga kuwarta.”
WORRIED. The farmer’s wife was worried and felt guilty. Her husband having faulted her for receiving the new 20 peso bills which they thought were fake. The couple later raised a sigh of relief when a neighbor, also a farmer, told them the truth about the money they thought was bogus.
