Wider publicity for the new peso bills suggested

THE NEW PESO BILLS. There are still many people who are not aware of the release of the new peso bills. A mediaman knows this because on two different occasions, two different PUJ drivers refused to accept the new P20 bill, insisting on the old “edition.” One of the two drivers later decided to accept the new bank note but warning the mediaman: “Dakpon gani ko sa akong paghupot ining imong kwartang papel, pangitaon gyud tika.”

WIDER PUBLICITY. A private commercial bank official has suggested that wider publicity should be given to the new peso bills. He said: “At this point in time, it would be easy for counterfeiters to pass on their fake banknotes as the public is not yet well acquainted with the genuine bills.”
