Lay minister reports illegal taxi fare add-on collection

PLUS FIFTY. There are taxi drivers who are not satisfied with the legalized hiked fare, they still demand a plus-50 add-on from the passenger. This was learned from a lay minister in a city parish church who was “victimized” twice by two unscrupulous cabbies on two occasions recently. The drivers told him the add-on amount was SOP (or standard operating procedure) among cab drivers here.

REPORT THEM. But one taxi operator told an Ear informer that the add-on fare of P50 is not SOP and, in fact, he has fired two drivers who practiced this “illegal collection.” He is urging passengers to report to the proper authorities cabbies demanding this illegal “plus-P50 add-on fare.”
