Parish priest takes politics to the pulpit
POLITICAL PRIEST. Some residents of a town in southern Cebu are complaining against their parish priest for not being apolitical.
They said the padre staunchly defends the incumbent mayor against the opposition and injects his opinions during Sunday Mass, often using his sermons to deliver his messages.
He even reportedly campaigned for his friend before the last elections and hates when people ask him to steer clear of local politics.
MOVING ON. Parishioners who became disgusted with his motivated preaching stopped coming to his church and decided to hear Mass in a neighboring town. This did not seem to deter the priest who reportedly still carries on campaigning for his friend, the mayor.
