Global Holy Rosary Hour this Friday and Divine Mercy

PERSPECTIVE - Cherry Piquero Ballescas -

Holy Week this year is especially memorable for many all throughout the world.

Many of those in Japan continue to remember and to pray for those affected by the recent huge earthquake and tsunami. Many of our own kababayans who experienced the devastating March 11 earthquake and the continuing aftershocks still talk about their horrible experience. Many of them really thought it would be their last day when that huge earthquake took place. Now, they value each day more preciously than ever. With the continuing aftershocks and new huge earthquakes, each day begins and ends with prayers of thanksgiving for another day of life from the Lord. Each day also begins and ends with continuing supplications for the Lord to come and hurry and stop the dangers from quakes, tsunami and nuclear radiation.

Elsewhere in the world, wars and protests are continuing with many of our own overseas Filipinos as well under threat. Much prayers are needed to also ask God for global peace and protection.

Here in the Philippines, our war on poverty and hunger continues. So with the campaign versus corruption and inequality. So much prayers we still need to ask God to bless the good among our people and our officials and to convict and restore the greedy and abusive back to His fold.

While many of our people are now on Holy Week mode, more perhaps for the vacation and fun portion, we hope all can find the time to really go on prayer mode and join all to thank the Lord for His grace, especially of life, of peace, providence, protection and His Presence, and to ask the Lord to take care of all the problems and urgent needs of all throughout the world.

This year, especially for this Holy Week, particularly for this Good Friday, a global campaign has been launched to ask as many as possible to pray the Holy Rosary together, collectively, on the evening of this year’s Holy Friday.

“ Where one or two are gathered in My Name, there I will be.” If on the evening of Good Friday this year, April 22, 2011, all of us together, in the Philippines, in Japan, and all throughout the world, pray together the Holy Rosary for global peace and protection of all, think of the tremendous prayer power that will generate, with all collectively praying together at the same time, on the evening of Good Friday!

The suggestion is to pray in the evening, at 8 p.m. local time. It is like doing an Earth Hour globally but this time it will be the Holy Rosary hour, this Good Friday. Can you do that for local and global peace and protection, for peace and protection of our people within our country and all throughout the world?

You can invite the whole family, the whole neighborhood, the whole church together. You can also skype or YM and do prayer web conferencing all throughout the world. You can imagine and creatively do your own way of getting as many to join this crusade for global Holy Rosary hour this Good Friday!

Can you please pass on this request for all of your friends and contacts to join the global collective Holy Rosary Hour this Good Friday please? Thank you.

Why the Holy Rosary? Remember the messages of our Mama Mary in Fatima, in Akita, Japan and elsewhere in the world? Remember the miracles that took place because of the power of collective rosary praying? Each decade commemorates the life, passion and resurrection of our Lord and the rosary is our bridge for our prayers to reach the Lord, with the intercession of our Mama Mary.
