Golfer scores a "Birdy"
A HOLE IN ONE OF THEM. A golfer was out enjoying the green when a friend hurried to him making such a fuss about another golfer of theirs scoring a “birdie”. In golf, a Birdie is defined as a score of one under par on any given hole.The golfer wondered why they were so excited when a birdie was not an unusual during any game. It was only when he was led to the scene of the “birdie” that he understood what had happened. A small bird that few by had been struck dead by the ball of the other golfer. “Swerte mo dili eagle,” the golfer joked, “o gipangdakop nata mo ato. In golf, an Eagle is a score of two below par for any single hole.
ONE IN A MILLION. Others who heard the story commented the chances of hitting a bird with a golf ball was at least one in a million. Others likened it to a bird getting hit by a ball during a baseball game in the US. A science show tried to replicate it with a ball machine and frozen chickens, but finally gave up after over 300 tries.
