Traffic enforcer shoos away man playing the guitar

- The Ear -

A BEGGAR HE? During the Sinulog revelry last Jan.16, a man (or boy) was seen sitting on an island on Osmeña Blvd. (Jones Ave.) playing the guitar with a harmonica attached to it. He attracted many people who tossed coins on his lap. The came a traffic enforcer who drove the “musician” away.

WHAT CRIME? A bemoustached man asked the enforcer: “Nganong imo mang giabog. Unsay sala niya?” Told that there is a law against begging or mendicancy, the man said: “Wa man to mangpakilimos. Naglingkod ra man to, nagtokar-tokar sa iyang sista ug selendron. Sala ba niya nga naay nangitsa og sensiyo sa iyang sabakan?” The enforcer left. “Nauwaw tingali,” The Ear informer said.
