Sto. Niño handkerchiefs selling faster than hot cakes

- The Ear -

STO. NIÑO HANKIES. Two women speaking Cebuano with Tagalog accent were seen selling handkerchiefs with imprints of the Sto. Niño in the vicinity of the Basilica. They claimed the hankies had touched the image of the Sto. Niño (where, The Ear source did not ask). But no matter. “The selling was not proper,” according to a priest. “The two women were enjoying good business,” the source said.

IN TACLOBAN. An Ear informer said the same women were also seen selling the same hankies in Tacloban City during the Sto. Niño fiesta there. Our informer learned that hankies were of two kinds — the perfumed and the non-perfumed. They also sold face towels also with imprints of the image of the Sto. Niño.
