Converting spaghetti into hard cash

- The Ear -

SPAGHETTI. A local government unit employee received many Christmas gifts, mostly ingredients for making spaghetti. Her siblings have also received similar gifts. “Nakahunahuna kini ug ang mga igsoon nga molutog spaghetti ug ibaligya sa kan-anan sa ilang iyaan,” according to The Ear source. “Their gifts were coverted to cash, as it were,” said the same source.

FIRECRACKER VICTIMS. Last year a PUJ driver did not heed the warning for the New Year (2010) celebrators not to use any of those powerful firecrackers. “Para ra na sa mga danghag,” he said referring to the warning. Not long after he said that, an Ear informer said, the said PUJ driver was rushed to the city hospital for treatment of his right hand that lost two fingers.
