Forgotten monument in the downtown area

BUST BUSTED. There stands a bust at the corner of Pelaez and Sanciangko streets in Cebu City that seems to be all but forgotten.   The face looks like it has been smashed in and there are no traces of whom it was dedicated to, what for and when. Sources said the monument was erected in memory of a radio station manager who was shot dead there in the last century. But unlike another monument recently rededicated along Borromeo St., Cebu City, no one seems to be interested in restoring this one. 

BILLIONAIRE TAKES A DIVE. The Capitol once hosted an event where boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao was guest of honor.   As the proceedings was moved from one room to another to accommodate the swelling crowd a member of the boxer’s entourage tripped on a platform that was hidden from plain view in the crush of people that surrounded the boxing hero and took a nose dive to the floor. One of the women near him helped him up, she recognized the famous personality as a national figure and a key person in a scandal involving a former president. “Bilyonaryo man unta ka madagma man lagi gihapon ka pareha namo,” the woman later told her co-workers.
