Balut vendors fight over basketball betting issue

GAMBLING VENDORS ... Two balut vendors nearly staged a “balisong” duel after an argument over the result of a PBA game last Sunday (San Miguel vs. Rain or Shine). The trouble arose when one of the vendors had no money to pay the winning vendors and offered to pay only his balut to settle the issue. “Saon ko man na nga naa pa may daghan kong balut,” the winner said but eventually agreed with the intercesion of a tanod.

“REFEREE’S FEE.” An Ear informer said another trouble developed after the barangay tanod asked for half of the balut won by the vendor as “referee’s fee.” Curiousity seekers had fun watching the feud, said the informer.
