P.Noy: Declaring war vs. the Catholic Church

He hasn’t even arrived in Philippine shores when a jubilant Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III announced that his government was backing moves to control the population of the Philippines through all means necessary, which includes the use of contraception, which is diametrically opposed to the doctrines of the Catholic Church. In making this announcement, Pres. Aquino said, “I think the government is obligated to inform everybody of their choices. At the end of the day, government might provide assistance to those who are without means if they want to employ a particular method.” That method is more than obvious to us - condoms and more condoms!

P.Noy can brag all he want that his US trip brought home a US$ 2.8 billion bacon but now it can be told that his joy stems from that US$434 million (P19 billion) grant given by the United States through the so-called Millennium Fund, which many pundits have long suspected had strings tied into it. No sooner has P.Noy gotten this money did he make this startling announcement to go against the Catholic Church. I’m sure that his mother, Tita Cory Aquino must be turning inside her grave that her son would now agree to go against the Catholic Church and against God’s will!

In accepting or embracing the US population policy to be done to the Philippines, Pres. Aquino has become a willing tool with the Godless American government in helping destroy our innocent children, all in the name of eradicating poverty. Well, I have news for Pres. Aquino. A recent news report revealed from the US Census Bureau that some 35.9 million people in America live below the poverty line, including 12.9 million children.

So clearly, despite the US government’s efforts to curtail their population, there are so many Americans who are considered below the poverty line. Perhaps US Pres. Barack Obama or US State Secretary Hillary Clinton should explain this to the Filipino people. In short, what America has been doing in the past hasn’t resulted in the prosperity that most Americans thought they would have by being American citizens. This, because America has turned away from God.

In the end, all the good news that P.Noy gave us from his US trip have evaporated into thin air, knowing that he has virtually declared war against the Catholic Church with his recent announcement. This is exactly one of the reasons why I didn’t vote for Noynoy Aquino for President. Today, I’m one of the many proud Filipinos who can say with our heads up high that we didn’t vote for him. I’m sure God isn’t happy with P.Noy.

When we were little kids, our parents always taught us that “Honesty is the best policy.” This is the attitude that we Filipinos should demand from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) who have taken their oaths to provide our people with clean, honest and credible elections. But it is more than obvious to many of us that our Comelec officials do not embrace this old adage to have honesty as their policy.

Enter a petition from election watchdog Center for People Empowerment in Governance (Cenpeg) that petitioned the Supreme Court to task the Comelec to disclose the source code that it used during the last May elections. The High Court granted Cenpeg’s petition saying that the elections have already been concluded; hence, the conditions for “non-disclosure” is already stale.

The Supreme Court also agreed with the petitioner “That the source could should be disclosed ‘not only for compliance with the law, and the purpose thereof, but especially in the backdrop of numerous admissions of errors and claims of fraud.’” Things would have been easier if the Comelec practiced transparency, but as the way things are going, you have to go to the highest court of the land to pry these very important details from the Comelec’s hands. What is the Comelec trying to hide anyway? If, as they boasted, the last May elections were clean and honest, then proof of the pudding is by showing the source codes even without anyone making a petition in the Supreme Court.

Actually as the report goes, the Comelec granted Cenpeg’s request last year to release the source codes that they would be using for the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines, but they dilly-dallied and eventually decided not to release it to Cenpeg, hence they had to seek redress from the Supreme Court. With this SC order, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that the source codes would not be shown to Cenpeg but within the premises of the Comelec. Now I don’t know if this is acceptable or not, but certainly we will be looking into this issue in the next few days.
