Impounded motorbikes should be auctioned while still usable

IMPOUNDED MOTORBIKES. The FREEMAN last Saturday published a picture of impounded motorcycles rotting under the elements at the city’s impounding area. There is no way the owners of these motorbikes could reclaim them. The impounding fees have been rising everyday. “I think it’s the better part of discretion for City Hall to have these bikes auctioned,” said a key national government official who saw this newspaper’s photo.

PUBLIC NOTICE. The same official said the city government should dispose of the motorcycles like the pawnshop way of disposing of remetados. The auctioning off should be announced to the public to give the owners the chance to get back their vehicles if they are still interested in them. “The city should do it immediately,” he said. “Sayang ang property na pabayaan nalang sa elements.”
