Extreme noise pollution from resto-bars

FROM 11 TO 3AM. A popular events organizer and lifestyle writer has complained about the extremely loud noise generated from resto-bars, popularly known as “cabanas” along Juana Osmeña St. She said the “thunderous and thumping noise” which starts from 11PM to 3AM is caused by a blaring sound system from these cabanas which are not enclosed. She said, “Ours is a residential area fronting St. Theresa’s College near Ramon Aboitiz St.. We just want a decent night’s sleep.”

HONORARY EXEMPTION? The complainant said that they have repeatedly complained and even dialogued with the property owner but to no avail. She said that the property where the resto-bars are located is owned by a family member of an Honorary Consul in Cebu. She said, “Is this honorary consul also given honorary exemption from the compliance of the anti-noise ordinance?”
