Vote goes to the highest bidder

BACK TO THE CITY. A group of voters who were given bus passes to a municipality in the north of Cebu are back in the city. The informer said that they were given bus passes by the owner of mini buses to go to this municipality in the 4th District of Cebu and cast their votes there. There were also given bus passes for their return trip home. The informer said that this owner of mini buses ran for councilor in this municipality and won. The informer added, “Wala pud niya gipabayad ang mga pasahero padung didto pag May 9 ug May 10.”

HIGHEST BIDDER. This same group of voters who went to a municipality in northern Cebu said that there was a bid war that went on between the two candidates who ran for mayor. The first bid was P710 if they vote for this mayor, additional money will be given by candidates for councilor. When the rival heard the starting bid, he said he was willing to pay P750 for each vote. The mayoralty candidate who first offered P710 heard of his rival’s higher bid and decided to raise his offer from P710 to P800. The informer said, “Nakadawat gyud ko og kapin usa ka libo kay apil man ang mga konsehal. Grabe ang bayranay didto uy.”
