Lying and cheating in order to win Malacañang?

While we had a long hot Holy Week, it seems that the heat of the campaign season refused to simmer down. I just can’t believe that magnitude of the lies that have been spread by mainstream tv and radio stations, including the local and national newspapers who peddled all the lies they could publish just to destroy the candidacy of former Defense Sec. Gilbert “GIBO” Teodoro Jr.

Exactly a week ago last Tuesday evening, I was invited at the Marco Polo Plaza to meet GIBO together with the One Cebu Party who wanted to assure him that they were pursuing his candidacy to its victorious conclusion and I write this as I was a witnessed to that proceeding.

It was also that same evening when GIBO told us that he was giving up the chairmanship of the Lakas-Kampi-NUCD so he could concentrate on his own campaigning and not be bothered with the nitty-gritty details of the 18,000 party members who also needed the party’s attention. Right there, I warned GIBO that this report would be twisted to the core and I was right, the news headline of radio, tv and newspapers was “GIBO quits Lakas.”

Of course, the Nacionalista Party (NP) or the Liberal Party (LP) would love nothing more than to see GIBO quit! They have totally belittled his campaign despite the fact that GIBO never took part of their mudslinging campaign.

It is a fact that Sen. Villar has been chastised by the Noynoy camp for his not being “poor enough”, while Sen. Villar insists that Noynoy has to explain to the Filipino people about the Hacienda Luisita. But GIBO has nothing to do with this and has been quietly and vigorously doing his campaign, reaching out to potential voters that he is the right man for the job!

Let me make my point clear: GIBO’s campaign slogan “Galing at Talino” has truly hit the Filipino voter. Not one of his political rivals questioned that he is the right man for the job. How could they? Compared to GIBO’s academic background, his rivals would be mere midgets! Hence, the only way to stop the GIBO bandwagon that has been growing by leaps and bounds is to taint him with Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. But even that is fast fading away as the truth about the FG scheme to shift loyalties from GIBO to Sen. Manny Villar has become a reality. However, the backlash there is that, Villar will now lose more votes in the process.

This is why today, there are people of lesser intelligence who still sends us idiotic texts declaring, “A Vote for GIBO is a Vote for Manny Villar!” This is obviously coming from the Noynoy camp who tries to convince those who are for GIBO that it is futile to vote for him and that Noynoy is a better alternative to Villar. Unfortunately for these people, they apparently do not realize that GIBO voters are the intelligent ones hence they strongly believe that a Vote for GIBO is going to make GIBO win the Presidency! Let me add this fresh information that the Durano’s of the 5th District met yesterday to give their full support for GIBO which is not what a texter texted me.

So for you folks, who still believe that the SWS and Pulse Asia surveys are credible, think again. These surveys do not even break it down to the age brackets or the sectoral representations. For many of us, there is the survey of the Campaigns & Images Group (CIG) that is far more credible than the SWS and Pulse Asia Surveys. A couple of weeks ago, CIG came up with a survey that showed GIBO already in 2nd place next to Manny Villar. Well, call it hot off the press. Here is the latest CIG survey that came out.

For brevity I will break the CIG survey as of April 1 as follows: Services, Industrial and Agricultural sectors and will only present the top four contenders.

For the Services Sector, Sen. Villar still leads with a huge margin of 29% followed by GIBO at 17%, Noynoy at 14% and Erap at 5%. The undecided is a high of 30%. There are 27 million voters in this sector.

For the Industrial Sector, the Presidential preference is at follows, Sen. Villar at 35% followed by GIBO at 28% and Aquino at 24% and Gordon at 2% while the undecided is a miniscule 5%. This is the sector that GIBO had the biggest gain since CIG did its first sampling last February, while it also shows that Noynoy’s precarious slide down have at least stopped. Total voters in this sector are 15.76 million.

For the Agricultural Sector, GIBO leads by 18%, followed by Sen. Villar with 17%, followed by Erap with 7% and Aquino at 5%. The undecided is a high of 48%. There are 7.59 million voters in this sector.

The Campaigns & Images Group says “By far perceived to be popular and well-prepared presidential candidates in the nine-person field, the most likely winner could be anyone in Villar, Aquino and Teodoro.”

With 34 more days to May 10 there’s still a lot of campaigning to do especially with the undecided voters. So get out and campaign hard, but please stop spreading lies that GIBO will give up because you just read it here; any of the three could win. The next President shouldn’t win by cheating or lying to the people!
