Useless firetruck with fire only "a stone's throw away"

LAHUG FIRE. Another fire hit Barangay Lahug Tuesday night. It supposedly started from a candle that was left unattended and blazed uncontrollably destroying millions in property. What was ironic was that an Isuzu firetruck, described as a powerful machine by the fire department, was just sitting idle at the barangay hall, a few meters away from the huge inferno.

USELESS. The firetruck was said to be “under repair” and could not be used, much to the frustration of several people in the area. A mediaman who was in the area said, “Ang kalay-on sa sunog malabay ra’g bato gikan sa firetruck.” Another mediaman commented, “Last week pa gani nasunog didto sa unahan lang. Karon diri na sab. Gitulod nalang unta to ang firetruck. Hahay, paet.”
