Business executive plays marbles, flies kite to beat stress

- The Ear -

STRESS CHASERS. The top executive of an upscale business firm used to complain about what he called his “stressful existence.” He said he has tried some activities suggested by friends for him to chase away the stress. All did not work. One day he saw neighborhood kids playing marbles and enjoyed watching - until he decided to play marbles himself with the kids. “That drove away my stressful existence, so to speak,” he said.

BOYHOOD RECALLED. The businessman said doing what he did during his boyhood seemed to have given him new vigor. Another “stress chaser” he has been doing is flying a kite with his kids on weekends. “Kon kapoy ka, unya mora’g depressed, try flying a kite or playing marbles, not with grownups but with children,” he said.
