GMA and US President Barack Obama hit it off quite well on their first meeting. They praised each other. I never thought they're members of the Mutual Admiration Club.

So it ain't so. I mean the text message I got that said when GMA texted Obama to congratulate him, the US President texted back: "Hu u?

By the way, I've been tempted many times to use Barack Obama's initials. But I never succumbed to the temptations.

Sen. Jamby Madrigal is running for President in 2010. I told a friend about this new political development and he said: "Jam....who?"

Everyone is talking about former President Cory Aquino who died Saturday dawn. Allow me to join them....After she became President, Cory made it clear: "I am a transition President." And so without much ado she stepped down after her successor had taken his oath.

So no problem. The presidency was passed on to the next President without a hitch. Smooth. Why is it that today, there's so much fuss about the incumbent's handing the presidency to the successor? Or is this just the insecure feeling of some opposition leaders?

E-mail from Nonito Chavez of New Haven, Conn, USA: "Let me say something about Tita Cory Aquino's death...Her legacy of democracy and freedom should always be borne in mind by us Pinoys...Cebu has a role in the story of her rise to the presidency but this is not mentioned in the special tv reports about her death."

Nonito recalls that Cory Aquino was in Cebu when it had been ascertained that Marcos had fled. "Gidala siya sa Carmelite monastery to keep her safe," Nonito says. "Sa ato pa sa Cebu nagsugod ang iyang journey to the Palace."
