Money, Money

- The Ear -

STASHED IN TRASH. After hearing news that robbers chanced upon a woman who was carrying P100,000 several Ear sources were discussing how to safely transport large amounts of money. One of them said she knew of some rich people who deliberately dressed themselves in shabby clothes and carried money to be deposited in the back in a bayong or boyot. “Buslot ang sinelas, unya diay to ang sulod sa boyot P100,000,” the Ear source said. Strangely, others said they know rich people who also used this tactic, dressing poorly and bringing huge amounts of cash hidden in sacks and even trash bags.

BIG MONEY, BIG RISK. But another source said one time his mother took out P1 million from the bank and rode home in a jeepney as if she were coming home with nothing. “Ako gyud siya gikasuk-an og maayo,” the source said, “hinuon sad dili man to among kwarta. Kwarta to sa akong tiyo.” He said until now he gets chills thinking about what would have happened if a lucky thief had chanced upon his mother that day.
