Botica sales clerk complains about all-Tagalog songs on radio

- The Ear -

All-tagalog songs. A sales clerk of a drugstore that serves the public 24 hours a day says she’s awake up to 3 a.m. with her radio always on and playing all-Tagalog music. “Nganong pulos man Tagalog songs ang patukaron sa mga radyo?” she wants to know. “Di ba maayo sagulan sab og Bisaya songs?” She says there are many Bisayan compositions just as good as if not better than Tagalog.

Encouragement. She asks radio stations to encourage and inspire Bisaya composers to come up with much better compositions by giving them and their works “recognition on the air.” She adds: “Usahay balik-balikon og patukar ang Tagalog songs. Usahay sad ilang i-interperse ang mga mediocre composition sa iningles.”
