Pinoy teachers in US suffer from "recession racism", asks for senator's help

TEACHERS’ WOE. Filipino teachers in USA are heard to be suffering from what is called “recession racism”. Many teachers were given termination papers last month which they call as highly unfair, given their dedicated service to their profession. One high school teacher in Maryland said that he has consistently received excellent results in his teaching evaluations. He was surprised and naturally upset when the African-American principal of his school terminated him with no justifiable reason.

RACISM. He said many Filipinos are now out of jobs in the US. He said, “Daghan ming Pinoy gi-terminate sa among African-American principals kay pasudlon nila ang ilang kalahi.” He said Filipinos are often discriminated against by their African American employers. He said, “Dili man na sila ganahan og Asians. Sila, sensitive kaayo, mo-accuse dayon sa mga puti nga racist kuno, pero sila diay ang pinaka-racist sa tanan. Ingnon mi ana nila nga ‘you’re stealing our people’s jobs.’ Unfair kaayo.” He said he remembered reading online about a senator’s move to protect OFW’s from “recession racism” and wanted to find out, “Matabangan ba kaha mi sa Senator sa?”
