What happened to the anti-noise ordinance?

- The Ear -

DAWN DISCO. Residents of this urban barangay are asking if the anti-noise ordinance is still in effect. Last January 31, a sitio in this city had a disco at the open basketball court that lasted, not only until dawn the next day. The sun was already shining, but still the huge boombox continued to blast away ear-splitting noise. The homeowners living near the basketball court complained of chest pains and difficulty breathing. Those with heart ailments concerned a nurse who said, “Makuyawan ko nga ma-stroke o heart attack unya ni sila tungod sa kasaba sa disco. Bisan ang mga ordinaryong tawo, ni reklamo nga gahuot ilang dughan ug maglisod sila’g ginhawa tungod sa saba.”

NO TEETH? People living nearest to the basketball court where the disco was held said their walls shook, plates rattled, and things fell down. They said, “Nahagsa among butang. Ni-uyog among bong-bong. Asa man diay ang ilang gi-ingon nga anti-noise ordinance? Exempted ba diay kung may fiesta? Wala gyud kabadlong ang barangay.”
