Many Cebuanos upset over TV report that the Sinulog dancers "wiggled it"

WIGGLE IT. Many Cebuano devotees of the Sto. Niño were happy when the coverage of the opening salvo of the Sinulog made it on national television news. But their happiness quickly turned to dismay at the apparently superficial way the event was handled. The news reporter from Manila said, “The dancers wiggled it, and not just a little bit...”

NO MENTION OF STO. NIÑO. Many Cebuanos who saw the tv clip were outraged when the tv reporter didn’t even bother to mention the Sto. Niño. A businesswoman said, “Mora man na niya’g gibinuangan iyang report. Wala man gani gihisgutan ang Sto. Niño.” Another devotee said, “Mora pa niya’g gibugal-bugalan ang atong sayaw sa Sinulog. “Wiggle it” kuno. Wala gyud siya’y hanaw sa religious significance sa Sinulog dance steps.”
