Toledo resident prefers "safer"old Manipis Road

- The Ear -

HARASSMENT?  An Ear source said he saw two women literally forcing themselves on an American tourist in a camera shop. The source said he saw the tourist come in to get some photos developed, but the two, who were salesgirls barely out of their teens, literally hounded him during his visit, asking him if he was married and offering their cellphone numbers in exchange for his. While the foreigner was polite enough, he tried to keep his stay short and curt. But it seemed the girls would not leave him alone. “Ako ma’y na-ikog para sa kano bai,” the source later told the Ear.

WE’LL BE COMING ‘ROUND THE MOUNTAIN. A Toledo City resident said he wishes the Manipis Road in Talisay City had never been widened. Before, when the road was still narrow and risks of accidents were great, drivers using the road would take great care, go slow and even stop to see if other vehicles were coming. But now that the Manipis Road has been widened, drivers reportedly no longer care about safety and become more reckless. The resident said that while the road is wider, the risks are still there and an accident can still happen anytime.
