Human vs. Divine Scripts

PERSPECTIVE - Cherry Piquero Ballescas -

That was an eerie sight. To see Gringo Honasan and Juan Ponce Enrile together, beyond EDSA I, during the latter's Oath of Office as Senate President. Is the next script another military takeover, facilitating an Enrile Presidency in the coming days? Is that a possible future script?

That kind of scenario, however, may clash with the Senate Coup drama supposedly hatched by Malacañang. Heard circulating rapidly since the Villar ouster or resignation is Malacañang's plan to push through Charter Change at the Senate. Of course, the denials are there. Now and then, though, that Charter Change script becomes patently obvious.

Pray tell, for instance, what prompted Jesus Dureza to ask the Lord to grant GMA more years in Malacañang beyond 2010? If the topic were not at all discussed or deliberated in Malacañang, why did it ever enter Dureza's mind and heart to publicly mention such a prayer for an extended stay in office of his boss GMA? Was this a deliberate slip to program the Filipino people to get used to the idea of an extended GMA stay in Malacañang or was this a providential slip so that the Filipino people will oppose this move as early as now?

With so much scripts attributed to Malacañang, including the Hello Garci scripts (remember the "I am sorry" episode?), it was difficult not to see another scripted scenario as soon as a wheel-chaired Jocjoc Bolante came out of the plane from the US. It was even more difficult to extend pity and forgiveness to a weaker-looking and definitely a thinner Jocjoc wheeled into St Luke's Hospital. Pity instead the emaciated farmers and their families who have continued to be neglected by abusive and greedy officials. How many of them, when sick, got wheeled into any hospital at all?

The Filipino people are asking: Why the special treatment for someone who did not ensure that millions of people's money reach the intended farmer-beneficiaries? Why was he not immediately whisked to the Senate for custody or anywhere else that he legally deserves to be?

And the present Fertilizer Fund inquiry, ( again, another Malacañang scripted zarzuela in Congress?) is beginning to bore our people, Like reruns, we see administration minions repeat the mantra of "invoking executive privilege" and/or saying GMA has nothing to do with this matter. As expected, minions are uniform in saying that no one in government is responsible for the loss of millions of fertilizer funds. Was this Fertilizer Fund script now being played out in Congress rehearsed during the "confinement" of the former DA secretary?

Questions, questions, questions from the people and no honest, complete answers from this administration. Instead, we are witnessing what looks like script after script after script.

Even LGUs are learning fast. How many local scripts have we been witnessing? Politicians and officials have become adept performers, especially where evasion related to transparency and accountability are concerned. So many are managing scripts and daily churning out their rehearsed lines and actions for people to see and to watch.

The people are not blind, however, to the manipulations and lack of honesty and truth in the scripts that they are made to watch. The people also are not blind to what is truly honest and true. The manipulators can proceed with their scripts and lies for as long as they care. Those in power always think their reign and their power are forever. History, however shows the real picture and the truth. All will end. Human scripts and human scriptwriters will end once divine scripts take over. Then God will show His wrath and justice for the power-hungry, for the abusers, for the corrupt. And the people will praise the Lord and see His Kingdom come finally!
