Angry spirits? Or just the spirit of fighting?

WHO GHOST THERE? After two fighting tomcats woke a household up before dawn with their shrieking and caterwauling, an old man sent her son to tell their gardener who was sleeping in the shed to do something about it. The boy went to the gardener and told him to drive the cats away. But the gardener, who was already awake, would not dare approach them in the darkness. After a few minutes the boy finally managed to convince the gardener they were just cats fighting. “Mao ba? Abi gyud nako’g mga tawong minatay nato gyud. Lain man gud paminawon,” the gardener said. The gardener was fond of dogs but never grew up around cats.

TMBSTN SHRTCTS. An Ear source marveled at some headstones at a public cemetery that seems to have caught the text fever. In place of “you” some tombstones just substituted the letter “U” and one of the messages read: “We will remember u for ever.” Another tombstone read: “Thnx for the memories”. Before these are cut by masons into stone or set in stainless steel by steelworkers, messages for the deceased are written on paper for reference. The Ear source surmised the writer decided to write in shortcut as many are used to texting shortcut words and the mason or steelworker thought they really wanted the message as is. “Let’s just hope ang mga tagtungod dili textan sa ilang mga minatay,” the source said.
