Letter to the editor: Complaints on airport matters

-

This refers to the second published complaint of LTC Philip Lapinid last Sunday. While it is not our policy to engage in tit-for-tat exchange on concerns that are best resolved through more formal channels, we only answered the complaint after LTC Lapinid failed to write, fax, email us or at least visit our offices or give us a call.

Finally however, LTC Lapinid contacted me by mobile phone and since he could not leave his post at his headquarters in Bataan, we agreed to meet in Manila next week. We will discuss what measures can be adopted to avoid misunderstanding and to follow a course where all complaints regarding check-in procedures for firearms and ammunition can be addressed at once and to the point.

On the other hand, those who wish to raise complaints and suggestions regarding airport matters may address them to:

Airport concerns may also be brought before any MCIAA Information Counter or by calling telephone number (032) 340-2486 locals 1032/1037 from 5 a.m to 9 p.m., Sundays to Saturdays. Beyond these hours, the MCIAA Operations Center may be reached at Mobile No. 09285041250.

Widely available in telephone directories, internet search lists, guidebooks, brochures and ubiquitous airport signs, these channels are the same ones that our clients from all over the world use in contacting with us. My own office is likewise open for anyone seeking information and assistance. I may be emailed at [email protected].
