Guest finds Sinanduloy yummy after all

- The Ear -

“PICKY” EATER. A man often invited to functions hosted by the provincial government confessed he often picked off the sweet potatoes of the Sinanduloy (50 percent rice, 50 percent sweet potato) combination served during meals. During a certain function he said he was about segregate the sweet potatoes again when he noticed Governor Gwen Garcia was sitting nearby and within glancing distance. The man later said he had no choice but to eat the combination whole. “Lami man diay tuod,” the man later told an Ear source.

LOCKED OUT. The neighbors of this jobless man are often awakened by his pleas of his mother to be let in after she had been locked out of their house again. The woman leaves for work at night and comes back early in the morning. The son drinks until late and then bolts the gate behind him so no thieves will come in. The problem is he often in a drunken sleep until noon and cannot hear his mother banging at the gate, demanding to be let in. But all their neighbors can. One time she banged at the gate so long and hard all the neighborhood’s dogs woke up and stared howling at her, another time she shouted until she was hoarse and finally left, saying she will sleep at a friend’s house. For some reason they refuse to install a padlock at the gate.
