Many vehicles didn't give way to ambulance along Escario St.
AMBULANCE RUN. An Ear informer said that an ambulance from a reputable hospital was making an emergency run at past 6pm last night. It passed by a narrow road along Escario St. The informer saw the ambulance with sirens wailing, had difficulty passing the narrow two-lane road as private vehicles on the opposite lane didn’t pull over and allow the ambulance to pass. Two private vehicles on the same lane pulled over but because of the narrow road, the ambulance still couldn’t pass through. A nurse who witnessed the trapped ambulance was heard saying, “Hala uy, paagi-a na intawon na ninyo ang ambulansiya. Naa nay gitabang nga kinabuhi.”
SLOW-ACTING TANOD. A barangay tanod was seen near the trapped ambulance but was slow to action. He didn’t man the traffic and didn’t stop the vehicles on the opposite lane to give ample space for the ambulance to pass. A pedestrian who saw this commented, “Paita aning tanod, naa ra man sa daplin. Hinay kaayo’g lihok.”
