Making the woman's genitalia attractive

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   -

It says here that more and more women are beautifying their noses through surgery. To make them something no one can sneeze at?

* * *

Beautifying noses is common among vain women. But have you heard or read about women resorting to surgery to make their, er, sex organ attractive?

* * *

Hehe. No, erase that. This is no laughing matter. This vaginal surgery to make the genitalia attractive is serious business in Europe.

* * *

The news item on this bizarre medical procedure says: “Women are paying large sums of money for this type of surgery which may improve the appearance of their genitalia but there is no evidence that it improves function.”

* * *

Why the need to improve the appearance of one’s genitalia or sex organ when this thing is supposed to be hidden? It seems that some women — in Europe, at least — are now putting their sex organ on the level of the nose or ears that are exposed and may sometimes need to be adorned.

A 45-year-old women friend, a mother of three, after reading the news item about this vaginal surgery said: “Hahaha. Bisag unsa na lang masud sa utok ning ubang babaye ... Ako di ko ni pahilabtan ang akoa, oy. To paraphrase the slogan of one university, through this portal have passed three professionals!”

They’ve been talking and talking about the move to decriminalize libel. There’s already a bill about this move. One of the provisions of the bill is that editors and publishers who know nothing about the news story perceived to be libelous should not be included in the suit.

* * *

I have long been batting for this. Most, if not all publishers, have no hand in the gathering and writing of the news deemed to be libelous by some people in that news. And yet, everytime a libel case is filed the publisher is always included in the complaint. Very bad.

One libel suit I got enmeshed in arose from a news story published in the now defunct The Freeman Mindanao, a sister publication of The Freeman Cebu. The paper was published in Mindanao. The news story perceived to be libelous was written by a Mindanao reporter and edited by a Mindanao editor. Because I was the publisher I got sued with the reporter and editor although I had, still have, my office in Cebu. Oh, well, as the lawyers say, the law is tough but it’s the law.
