People steered clear of bangus but ate fillet fish with gusto

- The Ear -

FISH SCARE. At an office party last weekend, people had their fill of the bountiful food spread out at buffet tables. Two of the dishes prepared were fish. With their plates on hand, people scooped up the beef and pork dishes but steered clear of the Rellenong Bangus.

One woman said, “Ay, di ko anang isda.” The waiter told her the bangus is safe since it came from the fish pond and not from the sea. The woman was unconvinced and chose to eat the sweet and sour fish fillet.

FISH FACE. The waiter commented to the caterer, “Naunsa man ma’am, likay sila sa bangus nga gikan fish pond pero gibanatan nila’g kaon ang fish fillet nga gikan sa dagat. Maoy unang nahurot.”

The caterer said, “Klaro man gud nga isda ang rellenong bangus. Ang fish fillet dili na man isda og nawong kay gibukotan na man og harina.”
