Overloading boat courts disaster

OVER THE MAXIMUM. A photographer of this paper shot a picture of a group of people at a beach in Mactan Island boarding a pumpboat. Boats like these offer island-hopping trips. What caught the photographer’s eye was the sight of more than 50 people in the act of boarding the pumpboat. But what was ironic was, at the side of the boat, was the sign “Boat capacity: 35”. The photographer said, “Sa ihap lang nako kapin na sa 50 ang mga tawo nga mosakay sa pumpboat.” 

BLAME GAME. A mediaman who saw the photo commented, “Tsk, tsk! Klarong overloading, hala sige lang gihapon. Unya bitaw og mo-unlod ang pumpboat, dayon mangayog tabang sa gobyerno. Magproblema pa ang gobyerno sa ilang tinuyuan. Maayo gani walay dautang nahitabo. Makaingon unta tag ‘mirisi!’ ”
