NOT GIVING WAY. A balikbayan commented to The Ear that most motorists in the city have no respect for ambulance runs. He said he observed on several occasion where ambulance with sirens on are not given space for it to pass through. The latest incidence he said was evening of last week where he saw an ambulance, with sirens wailing, sped along General Maxilom Ave. The ambulance was blocked on several instances along the stretch of road, with motorists not willing to pull over to let the ambulance pass. The balikbayan said, “Ang ambulance driver nagsige pag busina para paagi-on ang ambulansiya. Hahay, onli in da Pilipins.”
SEMINAR NEEDED. The balikbayan, a nurse in the United States for several years now said that these motorists who block the path or refused to allow the ambulance to pass clearly do not know the importance of ambulance runs. He said, “Kuwang sa seminar ning mga drivers diri. Wala sila ka realize nga kinabuhi na ang gitabang, nga every second counts, ug kung madugay ang ambulance, mamatay ang pasyente.”
