Reader's advice to Sto. Niño devotees: Keep your faith but hold on to your wallets

BEWARE. A reader who is a retired military has this advice to the pilgrims who are in Cebu for the Sinulog: Attend church celebrations but be careful of pickpockets, snatchers and robbers who take advantage of the huge crowd to victimize unsuspecting people. He said, “Daghan ang modagsang sa Cebu nga mga deboto sa Niño apan daghan sab ang mga kriminal nga mo-anhi. Maayo nga samtang mo attend kita sa prosesyon o misa, dili ta magsul-ob og alahas o magdala og daghang kuwarta. Angay kitang magbantay.”

CONFUSING COP. An Ear informer said that a controversial policeman who is currently “facing investigation”  was recently promoted. But what confused the informer was the rumor that the result of the psychological exam of this cop was stamped with a “can hardly comprehend”. The informer is asking, “Makalibog. Puwede diay ma promote ang usa ka pulis bisan naay ingon ani nga resulta sa exam?”
