'Downstream' candidates

After a photo of two senatoriables shooting the rapids of Cagayan de Oro came out in a national newspaper, a source told the Ear some funny things the photo and story did not include.
DILI MAKA-GETS. To make the experience more enjoyable, the river guides have a ready repertoire of appropriate jokes, but none of the senatoriables seemed to catch the humor behind them.
"Ang tawag namin sa level na to ay 'Broken Smile'," the river guide said pointing to a sheer rock wall that faced the river, "pag di tayo makakalusot ma-laminate ang mga mukha natin diyan at basag tanan ang ngipin natin. Kaya 'Broken Smile'."
"But how can we smile if we have no more teeth?" a senatoriable countered.
PADDLING FOR PICTURES. One of the senatoriables was seen in the photo early battling the huge waves with his paddle, but the Ear source said that as soon as the cameras were put away the senatoriable readily delegated his share to someone else.
"Paddle for me, boy," the senatoriable said as he passed his oar to a river guide, "ang pagod."
