Overeating has killed many people - News item

It says here that a foreigner slapped a GRO for playing hard to get. To bed or not to bed, was that the question?
A bar girl admits she doesn't pray before going to sleep. She just makes the sign of the cross, ending it with "Ah, men!"
Speaking of prayer, two youths tagged as vandals who soil walls with aerosol graffiti say they don't pray. They just spray?
It says here that many people die of overeating. By the way, who was it who said that more people commit suicide with a spoon or fork than with a gun?
"The problem with our politicians is that they would never eat their words," a newspaper reader said in a letter to the editor. They are not like Winston Churchill. Sir Winston once said: "Eating words has never given me indigestion."
Everytime Raffy Uytiepo and I meet he would ask me about my walking impairment (caused by a slipped disc). The last time he dropped by my office, he advised me to just keep walking and walking, never stopping, like the snail. "No snail has ever been hit by a slipped disc, he said. But many have been crushed by a footwear! I said.
Good advice from Raffy, a friend who runs most of the time. He could do the 100-meter dash in seconds. But one day, he got a bum knee and had to seek help from a walking cane. He crossed a street near Fuente O so slow he caused a traffic jam. Someone yelled at him. "Run, Raffy, run!" Raffy could hardly even walk.
A portion of a letter from Josefino Peral of Lahug, Cebu City, addressed to the Publisher and intended for the Letters Section:
"Dear Mr. Jabat: We are spending millions for the Asean Summit meeting ... Not to mention the mental stress suffered by our officials who fear that the terrorists would come and scuttle the big-time conclave ... Nganong nagpatuga-tuga man tawon tag host aning mitinga nga mahimo man unta ning ipahigayon didto's Metro Manila? ... Just for prestige? Just for show-off? Never mind the cost even if the coffers are empty? ... Hambog ra kaayo ta, Mr. Jabat, gusto ra tang pabilib."
That is reader Josefino Peral's opinion. Not mine.
