Letter to the Editor SSS reacts to Avila's column
February 4, 2006 | 12:00am
This is in response to the news column, Shooting Straight by Mr. Valeriano 'Bobit' Avila published on even date. His concern pertains to giving better services to SSS members.
May we inform that the SSS management is continually finding ways on how to better improve our services to the public. This month, we have started to implement generalist counters to accept all types of transactions. We have also separate counters for the pensioners (elderly and disabled) for their monthly pension-related concerns. Likewise, we have provided a separate corporate lane intended for transacting employers. The new system is intended to facilitate transactions so as to lessen the members' waiting time.
To provide more convenience to members who come to the SSS office before the official hour at 8 AM we have designated two counters which open at 7 AM to attend to their transactions.
We would also like to bring the good news that the construction of the new building at the SSS owned lot will push through as planned. Bidding for the building construction is now in progress at our main office in Quezon City. Construction will start as soon as the bidding is completed. The new building is targeted to be completed after a period of one year and will be the home of our hub branch in the Central Visayas region and promises better facilities, more convenience and improved accessibility for our members.
