MANILA, Philippines — Fishermen and sailors in Northern Luzon have been advised to watch out for debris from a rocket that will be launched by China before noon today.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said the Long March 7A rocket was expected to take off from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan between 10:02 a.m. and 11:04 a.m.

Some parts of the rocket are expected to fall in the waters off Burgos in Ilocos Norte as well as Dalupiri Island in Cagayan on Tuesday.

The debris may also fall in the waters off Santa Ana and Camiguin Norte in Cagayan.

As a precautionary measure, maritime restrictions were imposed in these areas, and small vessel operators were advised to stay clear of the drop zones during the launch window.

Residents have been told to report any floating object found in their villages. They were urged not to touch the debris as this may contain toxic chemicals.
