Vendors not allowed on January 7 to 9 amid Nazareno feast 2026
MANILA, Philippines — Vendors are prohibited around Quiapo Church from January 7 to 9, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso said.
In a press conference on Monday, November 17, Domagoso said that vendors will not be allowed to sell within the vicinity of Quiapo Church during those dates.
“On January 7, 8, and 9, wala pong papayagan na magtitinda. Lahat ng nasa vicinity sa simbahan ng Quiapo,” Domagoso said.
(On January 7, 8, and 9, no vendors will be allowed. Everyone within the vicinity of Quiapo Church.)
“Tatlong araw. Para naman na sa ganoon, 'yung makapaganda rin ang lungsod na makapag-leave buong area,” he added.
(Three days. That way, the city can also prepare and clear the entire area.)
Domagoso also urged vendors not to sell items that may harm devotees.
“I hope huwag po kayong magtitinda ng bagay na gagamit ng may mga matutulis na gamit katulad ng stick. Kasi marami sa mga deboto natin nakapaa,” he said.
The Quiapo Church has set the celebration for the Feast Day of the Black Nazarene from Dec. 31, 2025, to Jan. 9, 2026.
The Traslacion, or the procession of the Black Nazarene, will take place on January 9. It will start from the Quirino Grandstand after the “misa mayor” and will end at Quiapo Church.
During the last procession on January 9, 2025, organizers estimated that more than eight million devotees joined the event.
